How a neural network runs with no server

“AI background removal” and “no upload” sound contradictory — the model has to run somewhere. It does: in your browser tab. When you open the Remove background tool, the neural network itself is downloaded to your device and executed there, on your hardware. It’s the same class of model the cloud services run; the only difference is where it lives while it works. Your photo and the model meet on your machine, and only the finished cut-out ever gets saved — by you.

That architecture is also why the output isn’t hobbled: there’s no server bill to recover, so there’s no watermark, no resolution cap and no per-image meter funding one.
